A Norma Masterclass

The Nordic
Morning

Teaches stretching and mobility

Seven short lessons with a personal trainer, filmed outside at sunrise. One move a day. By Day 6 you've got a 5 minute morning routine that starts at your calves and ends at your lower back. And it actually sticks.

  • 7 video lessons
  • 17 min total
  • 5 min a morning

Class lessons

Seven days. One chain. Five minutes.

Watch them in order. Each one goes one angle deeper.

Lesson 01Angle 1

The mechanism and first stance

Here's the thing nobody tells you. Most morning stiffness doesn't start in your back. It starts down at your calf. Today you find that chain and take your first stance on angle one. Easy start. On purpose.

Calf stretch, 30 sec hold

Lesson 02Angle 2 to 3

The Achilles reset

One angle deeper. The slow heel drop works your Achilles under your own bodyweight, the same idea physical therapists lean on for tight, cranky tendons. Go slow. Slower than you think.

Heel drops, 10 reps

Lesson 03Angle 2 to 3

Heel and plantar fascia

That first step out of bed that makes you wince? Common. Not normal. Add a toe raise at the top of the stretch and you start loading the plantar fascia, so your mornings stop starting with a limp.

Toe raises, 15 reps

Lesson 04Angle 2 to 3

Knees and hips unlocked

Tight ankles change how your knees track. And your hips feel it too. Today you keep the calf loaded and add a slow hip rotation. Golfers, this one's for you.

Hip rotations, 8 per side

Lesson 05Angle 3 to 4

The lower back connection

The one most of you came for. The back. Stack a flat back hinge on top of the calf stretch and you'll feel the whole line wake up, heel to lower back, in a single hold.

Forward hinge, 20 sec

Lesson 06Angles 1 to 4

The full 5 minute flow

Nothing new today. Just everything from the week, timed into one 5 minute flow. Press play, follow along, and you're done before the coffee is.

Full routine, timed

Lesson 07Payoff day

The habit, not the board

Last lesson. Not the last morning. The board's the tool, but the habit is what actually fixes things. Watch the payoff walk, then keep going with the 4 Week Guide.

The payoff walk

What you'll learn

Your back pain probably starts at your heel.

Sounds backwards, right? But tight calves pull on everything above them. So we work up the chain one link a day, and by Day 6 the whole thing moves together.

  1. Day 1Calf
  2. Day 2Achilles
  3. Day 3Plantar fascia
  4. Day 4Knee and hip
